A safe, sandy, swimming beach is just across the road from the Panorama Motel. It is very popular in the summertime for a number of water sport activities or simply for cooling off! Adjacent to this, and also in front of the motel, is a vast area of rock pools that is exposed at low tide.

Another fascinating natural feature is at the rear of the accommodation complex. It is a 60-meter-high limestone cliff, which is the home for many birds.

The motel complex is situated near the stunning walking track that can be taken around the Kaikoura Peninsula. An excellent restaurant and pub are both less than 5 minutes’ walk from the motel.

The central business district is 20 minutes walk along the waterfront from the Panorama Motel.
